I'm thrilled that Geoff Chalmers from Discover Double Bass has chosen one of my videos to include in his Favourite Youtube Double Bassists page. I'm in excellent company with Mikyung Sung, Roman Patkolo and Maxim Vengerov, Jeff Bradetich, Rinat Ibragimov, Bozo Paradzik, Renaud Garcia Fons, Edicson Ruiz, Ethan Joeziewicz, James Oesi, Lauren Pierce.

Let me know which one is your favourite and if you have any suggestions for future videos!

Finally managed to get round to doing a new video for YouTube! This time it's The Stoic Theme from The Shawshank Redemption written by Thomas Newman.

I've arranged it for 5 basses and had a go at using the picture in picture function on Final Cut Pro. It's been a steep learning curve as I'm used to using iMovie but I think it came out quite nicely.

Recently did an interview for a German magazine called Bass Quarterly. The article is called Bass Auf Zwei Rädern or Bass on Two Wheels! Referring to my love of playing the Bass and Motorcycles. The journalist Michael Loesl was mainly interested in hearing about working in different genres and what I get up to in London in my work and practice. To see the article visit

Very excited by the arrival of a new album today; Te Deum by John Featherstone. It was a great privilege to be a part of this Classical, Jazz and Gospel infused CD written in multiple languages, especially as my picture made the liner notes (!) and I also got to work alongside my good friend Pedro Segundo. If you want to receive an early copy before the official Autumn release then here's a special link just for you...

I've been working on a transcription of a solo by Christian McBride recently so I invited my good friend and guitarist Jamie Leeming ( over to have a go at playing it through. The track is from an album by Gary Burton Called For Hamp, Red, Bags and Cal and the track is called Back Home In Indiana. It's the same changes as Donna Lee but in F instead of Ab. Christian does a few amazing bowed solos on this album so it's worth checking out.

Last night I had the privilege of sitting Principal Bass for the Aurora Orchestra performing music by Max Richter for the Nocturne Festival at Blenheim Palace.

This included a work named "Vivaldi Recomposed", a new adaptation of Vivaldi's Four Seasons, with amazing soloist and director Ray Chen.

In May I performed the Rossini Cello and Double Bass duet for the year 2 students at Cayman Prep School with my good friend Sebastian Poznansky. I've just been sent this
